Launched in November 2005, Acura CSX, the exclusive-to-Canada, all-new luxury compact sedan, will carry a Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) beginning at $25,400. Enhancing the driving experience, for $26,700, Canadians can add the thrill of F1-inspired paddle shifting with the optional 5-speed automatic transmission. Fully equipped with a Navigation System with Bilingual Voice Recognition™, the CSX provides the ultimate in luxury, performance and technology to the drive experience for $31,900.

"The CSX has been designed to serve as the gateway product to Acura’s family of six vehicles, from the RSX sports coupe to the RL luxury-performance sedan," said Jim Miller, executive vice president, Honda Canada. "We put the customer and the experience they can derive from an Acura at the centre of our design. CSX offers a balance of function and design to deliver technology and luxury to today’s sophisticated, young-at-heart Canadians looking for fun-to-drive performance."

As a built-in-Canada, exclusive-to-market product, the Acura CSX blends performance and handling that is the product of 20 years worth of Acura’s precision-crafted performance heritage, and is designed to exceed driver’s expectations. The fuel-efficient CSX offers a spirited 155-horsepower 2.0-litre DOHC i-VTEC engine, exhilarated by F1-inspired paddle shifters (with the optional 5-speed automatic transmission).

CSX is available in two trim levels. The well-equipped Touring model has four-wheel disc brakes, 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels, automatic climate control, premium cloth upholstery, six standard air bags, drive-by-wire throttle system for more responsive driving, and a 6-speaker high-powered audio system that features MP3/WMA compatibility. The Premium model adds leather-trimmed interior with heated front seats, a power moonroof with tilt and sliding shade, high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps, and a 350-watt audio system with 6-CD changer.

In addition, the Acura Navigation System with Bilingual Voice Recognition™ is available on the Premium model. The navigation system also includes illuminated steering wheel-mounted controls and a digital audio card reader to store and play back digital audio files.

"It’s essential that our gateway automobile embody our core virtues – performance, technology and luxury – in perfect balance," according to Jim Miller, executive vice president, Honda Canada, Inc. "The CSX adds the features, amenities, and fit and finish that luxury customers expect, wrapped in the Acura badge that has earned a reputation for providing top quality, dependability, and long-term driving satisfaction."

The Acura CSX will feature a wide range of distinctive luxury and convenience features, and a full complement of standard safety features, including the new Advanced Compatibility Engineered (ACE) Body Structure for enhanced safety in a frontal collision with a vehicle of differing size.
